Provisional Days of Competition
Following the release of our provisional timetable on 28 April it was brought to our attention that certain age groups had been timetabled again on the Monday of the event, even though they had changed age groups.
Due to Butlins being a relatively new venue, SERC are still striving to find the best solution to the timetable, taking into account hall restrictions as well as childrens' school needs.
We also have to take into account that certain age groups are much larger, and that certain competitions tend to attract many more spectators. This is especially important when considering venues such as the Shoreline Conference Centre, which has limited spectator capacity.
However, on this occasion, and by trying to ensure the "best fit", we failed to acknowledge that in doing so we had inadvertantly put the Under 18 Ladies on the Monday for the 3rd year running.
We have therefore decided to reschedule the under 18 Ladies and Men to the Sunday and replace them with the Under 10 Girls and Boys on the Monday.
Unfortunately, we cannot accomodate everyone's requests -- for example the Under 16 and 17 Girls whose competitions are just too large to reschedule without a fundamental change to the running order.
We hope this demonstrates that we are willing to listen to our customers and again apologise that we cannot make changes that will keep everyone happy.
The following are the REVISED provisional days of competition for each age group.
Note that this is not necessarily the running order on the day and, as before, we reserve the right to amend these provisional days if necessary, but will only do so under extreme circumstances.
